Ballad Concert "Where Words Become Songs and Stories Resound – Forms of Love." Yoshiaki Kimura performs historical ballads by Carl Loewe and other composers. He is accompanied on the piano by Miho Ohki.

The Japanese bass-baritone Dr. Yoshiaki Kimura has been performing successfully on European opera stages for over ten years. He made his debut at the Bamberg Opera House Summer Festival as Figaro. Since the 2014/15 season, he has been a member of the Bielefeld Theatre ensemble. He has performed in over 600 concerts across Europe.

Dr. Miho Ohki is a pianist and piano and music educator. She studied music education at Yokohama National University and, as a scholarship recipient, at the University of Erfurt, as well as instrumental pedagogy (piano) at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

The Carl Loewe District Music School presents its spring concert.

What makes this concert special is that it's not just students who perform. Teachers also actively participate, and some pieces are performed together.

May 17th is International Museum Day this year. The Carl Loewe Museum will be open from 2 pm.

In the evening, at 6 pm, there will be a special highlight:

Felix Rohleder will perform a Carl Loewe Lieder recital in the Chamber Music Hall of the Carl Loewe House. He will be accompanied on the piano by Daniel Heide.

The bass-baritone Felix Rohleder has been a member of the Chemnitz Theatre ensemble since the 2022/2023 season. He previously studied at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden.

The pianist Daniel Heide, originally from Weimar, is primarily known as one of the most sought-after accompanists for song. He is increasingly appearing as a soloist in piano recitals. He studied at the Franz Liszt University of Music Weimar.

The Carl Loewe House is open and invites you to new discoveries, guided tours and a special concert as part of the "In capella" youth music festival at 5 pm in the St. Petri City Church.

Concert commemorating the 230th anniversary of Carl Loewe's birth as part of Intercultural Week

Three teachers from the Carl Loewe District Music School have formed the Carl Loewe Trio:

Albert Kutz (violin),
Ilka Grießer (cello), and
Miho Ohki (piano).

They will perform Carl Loewe's Grand Trio, Op. 12 (1821).

The instrumental music in this concert will be complemented by songs and ballads performed by Karolin Böckelmann, who also teaches at the District Music School.
